Symme3D (symmetry) is a high performance, 3D Printer, CNC Mill and Laser etcher, delta platform that’s customizable, modular, fast, and silent during operation. It was developed by Calin Brandabur with a team of 4 highly specialized engineers and the prototype is ready for production.
It features 2 types of material for the frame, an aluminium compozite one and a full aluminium body, CNC cut to very small tolerances and designed with ease and error free and fast assembly in mind. The toolheads are completely modular and two sets of each tool head are offered, one accessible one high end. The total number of toolheads is 10.
All part vendors are in Europe, mainly Romania and the manufacturing and assembly are sourced in Timisoara (West of Romania).

The post Symme3D first appeared on RomanianStartups.com.

Turn your prototype into an industrial product

VisionBot is a pick and place robotic machine designed by a maker for makers which is able to place surface-mount devices (SMDs) onto PCBs. It can do more with less. It can be used for high precision placing of broad range of electronic components, like capacitors, resistors, integrated circuits onto the PCBs which are in turn used in electronic devices, computers, consumer electronics as well as industrial, medical, automotive, military and telecommunications equipment… any device that has a chip

The biggest challenge for electrical engineers, makers, hackers, and hobbyists is to turn their electronic prototype into an industrial product. They either have to contact an electronic factory or to buy an expensive machine that cost more than a hundred thousand dollars and is able to place surface-mount-devices on PCBs – Printed Circuit Boards (this machine can cost more than a hundred thousand dollars). For small and medium sized companies and for start-ups, both options are very costly in terms of time and costs.

Have you ever asked yourself how to turn your electronic prototype into a successful industrial product?
The answer is simple. You just need machines that assembly electronic boards for you automatically.

Why VisionBot?
– VisionBot helps makers, electrical engineers, hackers to make products based on their prototypes
– Very affordable. It doesn’t cost hundreds of thousands of dollars like other professional machines.
– Compatible with any Electronic Design Automation (EDA or ECAD) software
– VisionBot just imports the Gerber File
– VisionBot software will be made open-source
– The VisionBot desktop software it’s very easy to use
– 100% Translation & Multilingual Ready

The post VisionBot first appeared on RomanianStartups.com.

File management for the cloud

Octonius is the permanent link between the clouds.

Octonius helps global teams work faster.
By eliminating unnecessary steps from the daily workflow, our service makes sharing and collaboration effortless, intuitive.

Who is behind Octonius?

Octonius Team is an international one. People with strong entrepreneurial pedigree and experts in cloud architecture and data privacy.

Cosmin Ciobanu (CEO and seasoned entrepreneur) and Cristian Ivan (COO and genius programmer, head of mobile platforms) are romanians, Chris H. Leeb (CVO and business angel) is austrian, Anoop K. Nayak (CTO – tech geek & coder, built a Mars Rover for NASA) is from India.

Which advantages will people have with Octonius?

The Octonius team has big mission: to solve the cloud fragmentation problem for businesses.

Octonius is a platform for cross cloud file sharing. It helps teams and professionals keep their work organized by providing a unique functionality: cross cloud file sharing. Simply put, using Octonius a team can work from Dropbox with another team that uses Google Drive.

When and why did you decide to start with your business?

The idea started when Cosmin (CEO and founder of Octonius) worked with Cristian (COO and cofounder) for a couple of years on multiple freelancing projects. They wanted to keep their work in one cloud, but each client was using a different cloud storage solution.

The team wanted to streamline and simplify the file sharing process, regardless of the cloud storage someone is using.

Current status

Octonius is now in the prestigious WAYRA accelerator. We have over 10 pilot customers in enterprise sector that will start generating revenue in spring 2016.
Current pilots include: General Electric, SAP, P&G, Telefonica Spain.

We are an official partner of Telefonica company and as soon as we complete the integration of their cloud services, they will start selling Octonius to their B2B customers.

Previous funding: $160K to build the product and initiate the b2b sales.

The post Octonius first appeared on RomanianStartups.com.
