50%+ of the US workforce will be temporary by 2020. We’re a marketplace like Elance, oDesk, PeoplePerHour but for freelancers and contractors who work face-to-face.
We’re tired of people slaving away 70 hour weeks or being unemployed. At 3Desk, we believe that the future of work will be freer and more flexible. People will be ‘agents’ rather than employees. We want people to have more choice. The unemployed will be able to find small pieces of work that means they can get back to work. Employment will no longer be binary – employed, or unemployed.
Our dream is that in 20 years, the Harvard MBA graduation class will in entirety, choose to freelance, because of the advantages that this brings – like taking time off when they want to, working with people they like, setting their own terms or choosing a 3-day week to spend time with their kids because they can earn enough that way and because the work is more interesting.
