Our team has developed and has reached the prototyping stage for the CardioMedive solution, a complex system for fully remote patient monitoring. This high-tech solution involves a new patented technology in the medical device field, hardware and software, completed with a web-based platform available on any computer but also on iOS and Android.
The CardioMedive monitoring device is a discreet and easy-to-wear patch that measures continuously a complete list of vital signs and hemodynamic parameters including blood pressure, blood saturation, respiratory rate, heart rate, stroke volume, cardiac output, systemic vascular resistance, body temperature, steps, sweat and some more parameters. Recording data regardless of type of activity undertaken by the patient, it provides reports, statistics, trends in the health status and alerts in case of risk through an online platform. Furthermore, the hardware is designed to be very adaptable, it can be used for different applications only by changing the integrated sensors. All aspects of the hardware platform are designed in accordance to electrical and medical safety and emissions standards.

AMSIMCEL – Accelerating Systems Verification

As a young company founded in 2017, AMSIMCEL already won a Start-up Nation Romania founding grant and was selected in the Romanian Commerce Ministry Internationalization Program.
Our company is working on a software product that speeds up the process of physical verification of integrated circuits (ICs). Physical verification is the process of checking if an IC design meets the required criteria prior to manufacturing.
It is worth to notice that we tend to overlook that most of the digital advances we experimented in the last two decades (mobile devices, AI, autonomous cars, IoT, big data) would have not been possible without the evolution of ICs (processors, memories, batteries). However, while the IC design field has known its fair share of evolution (mostly due to technology shrinking), the verification and validation fields are lacking behind. In fact today it is commonly accepted that the verification and validation steps are the leading factor of the time to market of an electronic product.
To address this issue, we invented a novel physical verification software algorithm that provides faster results, surpassing the other tools on the market even by an order of magnitude. The core of our tool consists in running the simulations on GPUs (Graphic Processor Units), thus leveraging their powerful computing capabilities. A proof-of-concept implementation of a Design Rule Checking (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Design_rule_checking) based on the aforementioned framework shows that our approach is fast, scalable to multiple GPU devices, can handle large circuits design and can accommodate all kind of rules needed by the industry. Furthermore, by replacing CPUs by GPUs, our customers will benefit from important energy savings.
Our product has the potential to significantly reduce IC manufacturing time, which directly influences the time to market and cost of a finite electronic product. One can see that this “line of improvements” can have a huge impact on all industries relying on electronics.

The uRADMonitor is a global infrastructure of pollution tracking devices that are using advanced sensors to improve health and environmental awareness. The system is comprised of multiple hardware units, both fixed and portable, all of them of proprietary design, developed with considerable research efforts. The project emerged in Timisoara, Romania, and soon received worldwide recognition with hundreds of detectors connected all around the Globe.

Both B2C and B2B segments are targeted, while the former envisions the modern man constantly informed of the surrounding environmental quality with real time notifications for the purpose of improving health, the later includes customised solutions to track air in office and production areas.

The uRADMonitor addresses pollution, the kind that we are unable to see, but directly affects our health and can cause life threatening diseases. Airborne toxic chemicals, radioactive dust and radioactive radon are correlated with cases of pulmonary cancer, asthma and heart disease.

Since our biological senses can do little to warn us of such possible dangers, we have designed a network of monitors as a first line detection and warning system. Powerful sensors, capable of detecting both the chemical and the physical harmful factors, were deployed globally and share their readings to the uRADMonitor network.
